Austin is as cool as everyone is telling you, even during a pandemic. During our 28 days in this fine city, we spoiled our tastebuds rotten. They turn their nose up to almost everything we eat since we departed Austin, especially if it involves BBQ. That being said, it was well worth the raised standards. Check out our tastebuds' favorite eats and possibly some of our favorite non-food activities if I can think of some:
FOOD. TRUCKS. My favorite type of car. We visited a lot of them in Austin, so 50 lb. later here are our favorites in no particular order.
(P.S. I didn't think I'd be creating a blog and it's not in my nature to photograph my food, so these photos are from the establishment's respective Instagrams and are linked!)
6 More Delicious Establishments
Let's continue on with the same theme, sans wheels. What can I say, we ate out a lot:
Jester King
Spend a hot summer day walking the extensive grounds and trails, visiting the resident goat gang, and munching on delicious pizza and baked goods.
Le Grange Brewing Company
What a lovely evening of walking around sipping craft beer and trying to win the attention of goats, sheep, and a handsome donkey. It's a bit outside Austin - but do it.
Meanwhile Brewing
Austin establishments do a wonderful job of providing outdoor space for it's patrons, this place is no exception. Add in the excellent food trucks on site and this place makes a perfect place to spend an evening.
JewBoy Burgers
Your go-to for a quick burger. Fast casual has never tasted this good.
Oasis Brewing Company
A bit of a touristy spot being perched on top of a mall/shopping center area, but the view alone makes this place memorable for me.
Gus' World Famous Fried Chicken
There are several locations, with the OG being located in Memphis. I can say that not being the original has not taken away from its delight.
